Francis Thomas Anderson, Sr. (1808-1887) was a lawyer, politician and slave owner who served in the Virginia House of Delegates during the war and later on the Supreme Court of Appeals of Virginia. Much more info available online. He also served as rector of Washington and Lee University 1879-1888.
