John T. Wingfield enlisted as a 1st Lieut in Co. A, GA 9th Infantry and also saw service in Co. C, Lane’s Light Artillery, and “Wingfield” Company of both GA Sumter Light Artillery and GA 11th Battn Light Artillery. He was promoted to Captain 3-2-1863 and wounded at Gettysburg 7-3-1863.
