Joseph Nelson Harris (1828-1900) was a pharmacist and merchant in Griffin. His brother, Seaborn Drury Harris (1838-1863), moved to Greenwood, Fla. Seaborn served as an officer of Company I (Dixie Boys), 4th Florida Infantry. Seaborn never married and thus, when he was killed at the Battle of Murfreesboro, his Florida property went to his brother, Joseph.
