E.B. Hoopes served in 9th Mississippi Infantry which was part of the Department of West Florida Sept 1861-Oct 1861. He initially served in 12th Mississippi Infantry (Claiborne Guards). He mustered in March 23, 1861 at Port Gibson. His age was stated as 32 years upon enlistment.
