Moore AAG (Assistant Adjutant General) Headquarters Jones Brigade Johnson’s Division Ewell’s Corps (Army of Northern Virginia) Orange C.H. Va. Ex David L. Burton. Cover could be folded even more to show the pretty wallpaper or leave as is for the best of the address and wallpaper. $1250.              

Samuel Johnston Cramer Moore (1826 - 1908) began service as lieutenant and then captain of Company I Second Virginia infantry in 1861. He is listed as wounded at Kernstown March 23, 1862, and again at Brawner's Farm (Second Manassas), August 30, 1862. From 1862 until the end of the war, he served as a staff officer with various assignments, and was wounded a third time at the Wilderness May 5, 1864. Moore was a lawyer and practiced law after the war in Berryville, Virginia.
