Maj. Charles K. Fleming (1831-1919) lived in Rockingham Vt when he enlisted 8-12-1862 as a 1st lieutenant. A month later he was commissioned into G Company of VT 1st Heavy Artillery. He was listed as taken prisoner June 23, 1864, at Weldon Railroad (Petersburg). He was paroled Feb 28, 1865 (place not stated) and discharged May 15, 1865. He died in 1919. He was listed as confined at Columbia, SC. His wife was Mary Hill Fleming (1843-1924). They are buried together in Scarsdale, NY.
