Waller Care of William Waller Esq Lynchburg Virginia. The town of Dillard’s Depot only had a population of 82 in 1900. The town name was changed to Tye River Depot during the war. William Griffin Waller (1843-1894) served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 2nd Regiment, Virginia Cavalry, Company I. He was married to Jennie Kent Howell, a sister to Varina Howell Davis, wife of CSA president Jefferson Davis.
