CSA 8, 2¢ brown red horizontal strip of five, large even margins, tied by two of seven strikes of grid cancel on undated rebacked gray and white wallpaper cover front to a Railroad station addressed to James T. Peterson, Chappells P.O., G. & C. (Greenville & Columbia) R.R. South Carolina; pencil note on verso states the grid cancel is from Jamestown, NC. 2¢ strips of five on wallpaper are extremely rare, and this cover has the added value of being addressed to a railroad. An internet search found no other examples of a CSA 8 single or strip on a wallpaper cover. Photocopy of 1983 PF certificate which states the grids are Army of Northern Virginia.
