CSA 4, 5¢ blue pair, Stone 3, position 33, C & E joined on CENTS, used on brief folded letter with Jonesboro Va July 15th (1862), manuscript postmark to Thos. Branch & Sons, Petersburg, Va. from E.B. Jones by request of Dr. R.E. Haskins, asking to have the above (removed, no doubt for posting) notice published in the Express. Letter headed Brunswick, July 15, 1862. SCV $325 without regard to Scarce town postmark. Ex Renate Thayer. $350.  

The Daily Express (Petersburg, Va.) was published from 1852 to 1869. Jonesboro (Brunswick County) had a population of 52 in 1900 and no longer exists. The VPHS Catalog lists the Jonesboro post office as operating from 1826 to 1866. This is the VPHS 1862 listing copy.
