Jones by request of Dr. R.E. Haskins, asking to have the above (removed, no doubt for posting) notice published in the Express. Letter headed Brunswick, July 15, 1862. SCV $325 without regard to Scarce town postmark. Ex Renate Thayer. $350.  

The Daily Express (Petersburg, Va.) was published from 1852 to 1869. Jonesboro (Brunswick County) had a population of 52 in 1900 and no longer exists. The VPHS Catalog lists the Jonesboro post office as operating from 1826 to 1866. This is the VPHS 1862 listing copy.
