Brigadier General Elisha Franklin Paxton (1828-1863) was a favorite of Lt. Gen. Stonewall Jackson who is buried only a few feet from him in Lexington, Va. Paxton died at the Battle of Chancellorsville on May 3, 1863, Jackson on May 10th.
