Henry Clay Krebs (1839-1911) enlisted April 17, 1861, at Winchester Va. as a corporal. This is the day Virginia seceded from the Union. He mustered into Company H, 13th Virginia Infantry, Pegram’s Brigade, Ewell’s / Early’s Division, 2nd Corps, Army of Northern Virginia. He was detailed in both quartermaster and commissary departments in 1862. In 1864, he had light duty including as a nurse. In January 1865, he was in the Valley District as a clerk in the commissary department.
