Aaron Neal was a plantation owner and enslaver in Louisburg, Franklin County, N.C. the Neal Family Papers 1816-1916 are in the South Caroliniana Library, University of South Carolina, Columbia. It is apparently a treasure trove of information about the lives of enslaved and free people of color. The Neals were related to the Fox and Timberlake families who were planters, businessmen, and former in the area.
