William Nicholson was born at Staten Island, NY around 1840. Resided at Bastrop, Bastrop County, TX in 1860 with relatives; occupied as a clerk. Mustered into Company D at Houston, TX on September 7, 1861. Suffered slight forehead wound near Mossy Creek, TN on December 29, 1863. Present in February 1864. Killed near Rome, GA on October 13, 1864. Buried near Coosaville, GA.
