James Granville "Yaller Jim" Chitwood (1840-1916), was born and died in Tennessee. James married Rebecca Reed (1843-1906) on February 16, 1865. They were married 41 years and had eight children; James also had one son before they were married. Rebecca died in 1906 in Scott Co., TN at the age of 62. She was buried in the Trammell-Chitwood Cemetery in Winfield, Scott Co., TN. On February 28, 1908, 68-year-old James married 30-year-old widow Hannah A. Neal (1878-aft 1910). Her first husband was John Melton Duncan (1871-1908).
