J.N. Robson & Son was established in 1839 with John W. Robson and Frank E. Robson as principals. There were located at 136 East Bay 1 and 2 Atlantic Wharf, Charleston, South Carolina, as well as other locations over the years. They specialized in hay, grain and groceries. This ad corner card states “Rhett & Robson” so there were apparently other partners over time. Their records from 1861-1902 are located at the College of Charleston Special Collections, although their business existed before and after those dates.
