Cunningham, San Cosme, Rusk County, Texas, concerning both news of family men and friends serving and dying in the army and in prisoner. Rebecca Susan Swann Cunningham (1819-1866) married William Kendrick Cunningham (1822-1863) in Mecklenburg, N.C. in 1847. They were listed Rusk County, Texas, in the 1860 federal census. Cunningham served in 17th Texas Cavalry per NARA records but only served for one year. According to Find A Grave memorial 98142664 he was murdered - bushwhacked and robbed of both cattle and slaves. His wife died three years later, both in their forties.
