William Moultrie Reid (1798-1884) graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary in 1833 and was called as supply to Mt Zion Presbyterian Church, Sumter, SC. In 1835, he was ordained and installed as the regular pastor, serving until 1872. In 1867, the congregation deeded the manse to him, where he lived until his death. His sons served in the Confederate Army.
