CSA #11, 10¢ blue, manuscript cancelled - likely a field usage - on adversity cover made from a weapons accounting form, addressed to “Capt. Jno A. Cobb, Macon, Georgia” with notation “If absent, L. or H. will please attend to contents” – that no doubt being “Lamar” or “Howell”. Howell Cobb served as president of the Confederate Provisional Congress (1861-62) and a major general of the Confederate army.
