Greenlee Davidson (1834-1863) was from a prominent Virginia family. In 1861, he was serving as an Aide de Camp to Confederate Virginia Governor John Letcher with the Virginia state rank of Lt. Col. of Cavalry. He later entered regular service as Captain of the Letcher Artillery in Stonewall Jackson’s corps and was killed-in-action at Chancellorsville in May 1863.
